Two days ago saw the 15th best team in the world, SK Gaming, take down the 7th best team in the world, dignitas, 2-1 in the 99Damage Masters #4 grand final (12-16 on de_mirage, 16-5 on de_cache, and 16-12 on de_dust2) to thereby win $15,000. The fourth iteration of the 99Damage Masters brought $30,000 in prize money total to the table and featured eight teams dueling in a double elimination group stage. In the end it was DenDD, ALTERNATE aTTaX, SK Gaming, and dignitas who advanced out of the groups, with the latter two teams topping the groups and therefore meeting in the Upper Bracket final, which SK won 2-1.
Following dignitas' dispatching of ALTERNATE in the consolidation final, the Danish-Norwegian team rose up to challenge the Danish-Swedish SK in a grand final showdown and at first seemed ready to carry the series away with a 16-12 victory on de_mirage powered by a successful T-side. Michael "Friis" Jørgensen and his teammates rallied on de_cache with an easy 16-5 win on the second map and played strong defense on de_dust2 to win that map 16-12 and pocket the first place check of $15,000 in the league. 99Damage Masters #4Best of 3 99Damage Masters #4 final standings:
SK's victory in the 99Damage Masters #4 two days ago coincides with the team's overall growth in potential as a challenger to the top ten, a position which was reinforced by the Danish-Swedish team's double best-of-one victory over Na`Vi in the ESL Pro League yesterday. stich writes for HLTV.org and can be found on Twitter ![]() ![]() |
